Engineering Manager, ID Comply

We are seeking a highly motivated and product-focused Engineering Manager to lead our critical ID Comply (Identity Verification) team. This vital leadership role bridges product strategy and engineering execution, focusing on complex fraud, compliance, and business logic challenges within a full-stack environment. You will manage a high-performing team poised for growth, fostering a strong product mindset, mentoring engineers, and guiding the evolution of our identity verification platform.
What You Will Be Doing
Product & Strategy Leadership
- Drive Product Strategy: Act as the primary technical leader in shaping the ID Comply roadmap, collaborating with Product Managers to define and prioritize features that maximize client value and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Technical Translation: Translate ambiguous customer needs and complex business requirements into clear, actionable technical specifications and user stories for the engineering team.
- Business Alignment: Ensure all engineering efforts directly support high-stakes business logic, compliance, and anti-fraud workflows.
Technical Execution & Team Management
- Servant Leadership: Manage and mentor a strong, independent team of full-stack engineers, fostering a culture of high autonomy, ownership, and continuous learning. Focus on unblocking and empowering the team.
- Architectural Guidance: Provide strategic technical oversight for the team's entire full-stack platform, including web applications, backend services, and client-side applications. Provide leadership regarding Native SDKs (iOS/Android), bridging knowledge gaps between SDK and web teams.
- Technology Evolution: Guide the strategic modernization of the technology stack, applying strong architectural judgment to ensure stability and future scalability.
- Organizational Scaling: Implement best practices and processes to effectively manage the team through rapid headcount growth.
What You Will Bring
Core Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Proven experience as an Engineering Manager or Sr. SDM leading high-performing engineering teams.
- Demonstrated professional proficiency in one or more modern programming languages relevant to a full-stack environment (e.g., Go, PHP, JavaScript, Java, C#).
- Proven ability to lead by empowering engineers and fostering a culture of high trust and autonomous decision-making.
- A strong, established product mindset with deep practical experience driving engineering outcomes based on business value.
- Experience managing engineering teams responsible for complex, high-assurance systems in regulated environments (e.g., Financial Services, HealthTech, Gaming, Security, or SaaS platforms with critical compliance requirements).
Technical Skills & Background
- Extensive experience overseeing projects that span the entire application stack, from API services to user interfaces.
- Familiarity with the challenges and best practices related to Native SDK integrations (iOS/Android).
- Exceptional ability to synthesize complex, non-technical requirements into technical plans and system designs.
