Role Overview: Development Team Lead
The Development Team Lead drives the design, implementation, and delivery of full-stack solutions. This leadership role involves coaching and mentoring a team of Software Engineers, requiring excellent communication, strong leadership, and deep software expertise. You will work in a fast-moving environment to deliver solutions with broad business impact.
- Own the design, implementation, and delivery of full-stack software solutions.
- Report on the status of development, quality, and system performance.
- Collaborate closely with engineers to architect and develop optimal technical designs and approaches.
- Hire, coach, and mentor Software Engineers.
- Design, implement, test, and maintain innovative software solutions.
- Establish and maintain software engineering best practices to ensure high-quality team deliverables.
- Write high-quality distributed system software.
- Contribute to the architecture and design of new and current systems.
- Perform code reviews.
- Collaborate with other teams and departments to gather and share information related to team activities.
- Undertake any other tasks or responsibilities related to the Development Team Lead role.
Knowledge, Experience & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent field.
- Considerable experience in software development.
- Leadership experience and familiarity with Agile Development methodologies (beneficial).
- Strong background in contributing to the architecture and design of new and existing systems.
- Working knowledge of Unix/Linux and object-oriented programming in PHP, Java, or C#.
- Demonstrated strong software development qualities, including the ability to drive creative and innovative solutions to complex problems, sound technical judgment, clear communication, engagement, teamwork, and a commitment to quality.
- Experience in fostering a culture of modern engineering practices.
- Ability to demonstrate strong knowledge of MySQL, distributed revision-control tools (e.g., Git), and modern JavaScript frameworks.
- Excellent time management and prioritization skills.
- Driven, proactive, and enthusiastic with excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
