Developer II: Web Software Development & Bug Correction
The Developer II collaborates closely with internal Developer, Network Administrator, and Quality Assurance teams to deliver high-quality web-based tools, comprehensive documentation, and timely bug correction before production release. This role reports directly to the Information Technologies Supervisor.
Essential Functions

- Develop software for internal use by Certrec or external customers.
- Create and maintain process documentation for both new and existing products.
- Assist in the evaluation of current products to identify defects.
- Control software releases to the production environment, facilitating necessary code changes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Competencies
- Strong working knowledge of HTML and CSS.
- Understanding of SQL, specifically utilizing transactions; MySQL experience is preferred.
- High level of technical understanding and familiarity with Agile-based development methodologies.
- Familiarity with version control systems (SVN, Git, and AlienBrain) and industry standard release procedures.
Required Education and Experience
- An associate degree or 60 college credit hours from an accredited university. An IT bachelor's degree is a plus, but not required.
- 5+ years of related work experience.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- Communication Skills: Ability to clearly communicate verbally and in writing in English.
- Multitasking: Capability to simultaneously perform multiple assignments.
- Interpersonal Skills: Ability to interface effectively as a team player with various organizational levels, both internally and with clients.
- Computers & Software: Proficiency in at least one web development language (Python preferred, but C++ and PhP are suitable).
- Ability to work independently with some oversight or collaboratively within a team.
- Must abide by all Company Policies and Procedures.

This role involves:
