Customer Success Engineer Role
As a Customer Success Engineer at Algolia, you will be instrumental in ensuring our customers successfully adopt, implement, and scale our advanced search and discovery platform. You will collaborate closely with clients to provide high-quality technical onboarding, expert solution design, best-practice guidance, and hands-on implementation support.
This position is ideal for individuals who are deeply curious, thrive on solving complex technical challenges, and are eager to learn and apply new technologies, including modern development patterns, cloud infrastructure, and emerging AI capabilities. You will navigate diverse customer architectures and use cases, guiding teams to design performant, scalable solutions while championing technical excellence.
You will also contribute to our Professional and Expert Foundation offerings, serving as a technical owner for assigned accounts. Your focus will be on ensuring seamless delivery through clear communication, rigorous documentation, and thoughtful stakeholder alignment.

YOUR ROLE WILL CONSIST OF
- Act as a technical consultant for a diverse range of customers, delivering tailored ad-hoc services.
- Scope, shape, and present technical workshops to drive Algolia's platform adoption.
- Advise Algolia's customers on optimal technical and industry best practices for search implementation and optimization.
- Collaborate closely with your account's Customer Success Manager to ensure long-term customer health through world-class support.
- Work cross-organizationally, escalating issues as needed for solution confirmation or alternative options.
- Partner with Product and Engineering Teams to develop subject matter expertise and serve as a product expert for your customers.
- Develop, maintain, and present comprehensive case status reports to customers during regularly scheduled meetings.
- Proactively identify and resolve technical risks and bottlenecks with customers.
- Provide expert guidance on optimizing the use of their environment.
YOU MIGHT BE A FIT IF YOU HAVE
- Functional knowledge of at least one programming language, such as JavaScript, Java, PHP, C#, Objective-C, Swift, Ruby, or Python.
- Experience with REST API, database management, and web development technologies.
- Proven experience delivering technical workshops (training, knowledge transfer, implementation, code review).
- A strong desire to help people solve problems, coupled with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in communicating complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences via phone and email.
- Excellence in time management, task prioritization, and evaluating situational urgency.
- Fluency in German and English.
- Ability to travel to customer locations as required.
NICE TO HAVE
- Familiarity with iOS & Android platforms.
- Experience supporting open-source projects and their GitHub communities.
- Experience with Shopify, Magento, and Salesforce is a plus.
