Required Skills & Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in BigCommerce website development.
• Expertise in BigCommerce theme development and customization.
• Expert level knowledge of BigCommerce Stencil framework (handlebars, front matters, etc.).
• Proficiency with BigCommerce’s Storefront GraphQL API for dynamic and data-driven features.
• Experience creating custom widgets and reusable front-end components within BigCommerce.
• Comfortability working with Storefront APIs and Stencil util-APIs.
• Strong knowledge of the BigCommerce platform.
• Expertise in HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript/ECMAScript 5/6.
• Expertise in JavaScript libraries (e.g., jQuery).
• Thorough understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues.
• Strong understanding of responsive web design techniques.
• Understanding of W3C web standards/semantics and accessibility guidelines.
• Strong written and spoken English.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to clearly discuss ideas, technical concepts, and feedback.
• A proactive mindset and the ability to take initiative and ownership of your work.
• Ability to work on multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.

• Experience with WordPress, Magento, and Shopify.

• BigCommerce certification.

Key Responsibilities:

• Developing eCommerce sites on the BigCommerce platform.
• Developing custom BigCommerce themes.
• Building custom widgets and components to enhance site functionality and user experience.
• Implementing interactive and data-driven features using BigCommerce’s Storefront GraphQL API.
• Extending BigCommerce functionalities using storefront APIs and Stencil util-API.
• Migrating websites from other eCommerce platforms to BigCommerce.
• Integrating third-party and platform-supported apps into sites.
• Setting up payment integration, shipping methods, and taxes within the BigCommerce platform.
• Optimizing page speed of BigCommerce Sites.
• Implementing SEO/CRO best practices in BigCommerce sites.
• Upgrading sites from BluePrint to Stencil Framework.
• Transforming complex PSD layouts into pixel-perfect presentation layer HTML5/CSS3 templates.
• Creating responsive website designs.
• Working with version control systems such as GIT / SVN.
• Working under tight deadlines and handling multiple projects simultaneously.
• Producing high-quality work with a strong focus on detail.
• Communicating clearly and regularly with team leads, project managers, and designers to align on project goals, timelines, and deliverables.
• Taking initiative in suggesting improvements, sharing feedback, and identifying opportunities to enhance workflows and project outcomes.

Compensation Disclosure: Starting base pay for this position in California, New York, Washington, and Colorado ranges between $17 - $35 per hour. Compensation may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, skills test performance, geographic location, and seniority of the position offered. Compensation outside of California, New York, Washington, and Colorado may fall outside the above ranges.
