General Function
The Big Data Healthcare Developer evaluates, designs, and implements technology solutions to advance technology strategies within a line of business. This role often serves as the Application Owner responsible for third-party, purchased software aligned with a Line of Business (LOB).
Responsibilities include collaborating with vendors to understand upcoming changes, integrating software into the technology roadmap, and designing plans to ensure business continuity and effectiveness. The incumbent must understand the bank's systems configuration and necessary reconfigurations to meet evolving needs. If aligned with an Agile squad, the developer works closely with the Product Owner to define user stories for effective technology solutions.
All employees are accountable for risk management, following defined policies and procedures, and ensuring actions drive a positive customer experience while operating within the Bank's risk appetite.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Act as the primary liaison with software vendor(s) for systems used by a specific line of business.
- Monitor upcoming changes and enhancements in vendor software and assess their impact on the business.
- Design solutions with the line of business to incorporate software changes and ensure effective implementation with business partners.
- Analyze the business technology roadmap and recommend continued utilization or elimination of current third-party software solutions.
- For Agile teams, collaborate with the Product Owner to ensure user stories are specific and clear for software developers.
- Implement and maintain new features and capabilities while continuously improving technical product and service quality.
- Follow industry and organizational best practices and standards; contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
- Achieve operational excellence through process automation and creating maintainable, supportable, and testable solutions.
- Stay current with technology trends and innovations in relevant fields of practice.
- Provide operational support and troubleshooting for team products and services.
- Offer coaching, mentoring, and training to new or less experienced team members.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technology field or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- 8+ years of engineering or other IT work experience relevant to the position.
- Must Have: Deep hands-on expertise across PHP (Linux/Apache), Delphi, SQL, and batch scripting, with a track record of designing, automating, and optimizing high-volume backend systems for performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Healthcare industry experience strongly preferred.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Willingness to work in a highly-collaborative environment.
- Solid understanding and significant experience with modern software development practices, tools, and/or hardware technologies.
- Solid understanding of IT security best practices.
- Expertise in one or more technical and/or functional domains relevant to the position.
- Experience designing, implementing, and supporting complex technical solutions.
Compensation and Location
Total Base Pay Range: $94,500.00 - $203,200.00 USD Annual.
Individual salaries vary based on factors such as role, skillset, experience, education, and geographic location. This role is eligible for an incentive compensation plan based on performance.
