Job Description
This is a remote position.
Currently, we are looking for a Backend Developer to join our Loyalty Team and support the development of scalable and high-quality backend solutions.
As a Backend Developer, you will be responsible for implementing new functionalities, maintaining existing systems, and contributing to the overall architecture and code quality. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will help build reliable microservices-based applications using modern technologies and development best practices.
The role
In this role, you will play a crucial part in the Loyalty Team, balancing the delivery of cutting-edge features with the continuous improvement of our backend systems to ensure high performance and scalability.
What you'll actually do
- You will be responsible for implementing new functionalities and maintaining existing code, with a focus on a 70% emphasis on new feature development and a 30% focus on maintenance.
- You will design and develop applications as well as take care of the code quality and contribute to the overall architecture.
- You will follow the best development practices and recommend optimal solutions.
- You will participate in routine events like: daily, refinement, planning, review, retrospective.

Requirements
What we're looking for
- Backend Expertise — Proficiency in PHP, with a focus on Laravel/Symfony frameworks.
- Testing & Database Skills — Solid experience in unit testing alongside familiarity with relational databases, particularly MySQL (MariaDB).
- NoSQL & Architecture — Hands-on experience with NoSQL databases like MongoDB and Redis, coupled with practical knowledge of CQRS (Command Query Responsibility Segregation) and Event Sourcing.
- DevOps & Ecosystems — Exposure to containerization technologies such as Docker, orchestration with Kubernetes, message broker RabbitMQ, and experience with CI/CD pipelines, particularly using GitLab.
- API & Version Control — Strong understanding of RESTful API principles and proficiency in version control using GIT.
- AI-First Mindset — Experience with AI-powered coding tools – preferably Claude Code, though Cursor is also acceptable.
- Architecture Knowledge — Strong knowledge of microservices architecture.
- Soft Skills & Languages — A collaborative team player with excellent problem-solving, communication, and analytical skills, with a communicative level of Polish and English.
Nice to have
- Proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript, with a focus on Node.js, and a strong sense of independence and decision-making.
