Workland is offering a 3-month Back-End Web Developer Internship. This program is designed for students currently enrolled in a recognized computer science program or equivalent. It's an excellent entry-level opportunity to contribute to the future of web development and gain practical experience within a dynamic, results-driven environment.
This internship can be credited towards your academic program. Exceptional interns may be invited back for a second internship. Compensation may be available for eligible students enrolled in a recognized program who qualify for a government internship grant; specific terms will be discussed during the interview process.

Position Summary: Back-End Web Developer Intern
Do you have a passion for coding? As a Back-End Web Developer Intern, you will be instrumental in ensuring Workland delivers an efficient, functional, and seamless end-user experience by powering critical back-end systems. Your responsibilities will include developing robust back-end systems, contributing to accessibility and security compliance, and monitoring server status. We seek a motivated and determined programmer eager to tackle diverse assignments and contribute significantly to our platform.
Key Responsibilities of a Back-End Web Developer Intern
- Programming Languages: Develop and maintain back-end code primarily using PHP.
- Databases & Caches: Retrieve and store information using SQL; create, integrate, and manage databases; generate reports, analyses, and statistics as required.
- Development Tools: Utilize Docker for containerization, implement best practices for unit testing, and manage code versioning with Git/GitLab.
- System Development: Build and maintain robust back-end systems to ensure a smooth and functional user experience.
- Compliance & Monitoring: Assist with accessibility and security compliance efforts, and monitor server status.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Currently enrolled in a DEC, AEC, certificate, or bachelor's degree program in computer science or a related field.
- Eligibility to participate in an internship program approved by the Ministry of Education.
- Some practical experience in web development.
- Excellent skills in writing clean, high-quality code.
- Working knowledge of PHP, SQL, Docker, and Git/GitLab is considered a significant asset.
