Location
This position can be fulfilled from anywhere in Portugal, though you are welcome to work from our office in Porto.
Back-end Engineer (Full Remote)
We are seeking highly skilled and talented individuals to join our team to further design, build, and scale our platform offerings across a wide range of web and mobile projects. You will work with modern technologies such as Data Streaming, Big Data, and Real-Time Statistics Computation in a supportive and friendly environment that promotes work-life balance.
The ideal candidate has a passion for software development and enjoys working in a challenging yet rewarding environment.
Your Responsibilities:
- Develop modular, testable, and scalable software components for core platform and web services/APIs.
- Optimize code for performance and scalability.
- Maintain and refactor legacy systems.
- Research and develop new and emerging technologies.
- Contribute to team process improvements, adhering to industry best practices and principles.
- Participate in regular code reviews and team knowledge-sharing activities.
You Have:
- 4+ years of object-oriented PHP 7+ development experience.
- Capability to build server-side and client-side applications with PHP, Javascript, HTML.
- Good knowledge of design patterns, security, and performance concepts.
- Solid foundation in SQL databases and design, specifically MariaDB.
- Good understanding of RESTful architecture.
- Good understanding of caching tools and techniques.
- Good written, spoken, and interpersonal communication skills in English.
Considered a Plus:
- Development experience with caching tools and techniques (APC, Memcached).
- Development experience with Golang.
- Knowledge of Git/Github and related workflows in a distributed team environment.
