Avrillo is a conveyancing firm that develops its own technology. We innovate how conveyancing operates from the ground up, integrating AI as a core component of our development process and platform functionality.
We are seeking a Senior PHP Developer to join our established development team. This role involves transforming the UK's paper-heavy conveyancing industry.
You will work on live systems that currently process documents, verify identities, and integrate with lenders and estate agents. Our development approach already incorporates full AI assistance, and we are looking for a developer who thrives in this environment.
What you'd actually be working on
We are in the midst of a significant platform evolution. You will join a team actively delivering key projects:
- CRM and Case Management Rebuild: Migrating from legacy systems to our proprietary, controlled platform.
- AML and Compliance Automation: Implementing source of funds verification, identity checks, and fraud detection, with integrations to leading providers.
- Document Intelligence: Processing, extracting, and understanding legal documents at scale.
- Third-Party Integrations: Connecting with estate agent portals, lender APIs, and payment systems.
These systems handle real transactions for real clients daily.
What "AI-driven" means here
AI is fundamental to our development process, not just a roadmap item. We utilize AI-assisted development workflows as standard, integrating Large Language Models (LLMs) and automation directly into the platform for document processing, decision support, and compliance checks. If you have experience with these methods and insights on effective implementation, you will be a great fit.
The team
You will join a small, cohesive development team that takes full ownership of its creations. We operate as an integrated part of the business, not a separate tech department. Developers have direct input into project scope and rationale.
You will collaborate with teammates specializing in Laravel, Vue, integrations, and infrastructure. You will report to the Team Lead, who will be your primary daily contact.
What we're looking for
Technically:
- Production experience in AI-assisted development and LLM integration.
- Strong PHP and Laravel experience (5+ years).
- Proficiency with Vue.js or a willingness to learn.
- Strong Architectural skills, focusing on future planning.
- Experience with APIs, integrations, and third-party systems.
- Familiarity with AWS or similar cloud environments.
