We are seeking a Senior PHP Developer to join our established development team. This role offers the opportunity to significantly contribute to transforming one of the UK's most paper-intensive and often frustrating industries. You will work on live, production systems that currently process documents, verify identities, and integrate with lenders and estate agents, rather than prototypes or proof-of-concepts. Our development approach is already fully AI-assisted, and we are looking for a developer who thrives in this environment.
Key Responsibilities & Projects
You will be instrumental in a significant platform evolution, actively delivering on critical projects:
- CRM and Case Management Rebuild: Migrating from legacy systems to our owned and controlled platform.
- AML and Compliance Automation: Implementing solutions for source of funds verification, identity checks, and fraud detection, integrating with leading providers.
- Document Intelligence: Developing capabilities for processing, extracting, and understanding legal documents at scale.
- Third-Party Integrations: Connecting with estate agent portals, lender APIs, and payment systems.
These systems handle real transactions for real clients every day, making your contributions immediately impactful.

The Development Team
You will join a small, cohesive development team that takes full ownership of its creations. We operate as an integral part of the business, not a separate tech department. Developers at Avrillo have direct input into project scope and rationale. You will collaborate with teammates specializing in Laravel, Vue, integrations, and infrastructure, reporting directly to the Team Lead, who will serve as your primary day-to-day contact.
Required Skills & Experience
Technically:
- Production experience in AI-assisted development and LLM integration.
- Strong proficiency in PHP and Laravel, with 5+ years of experience.
- Comfortable with Vue.js or a strong willingness to develop expertise.
- Robust architectural skills, with a focus on future-proof planning.
- Extensive experience with APIs, integrations, and third-party systems.
- Familiarity with AWS or comparable cloud environments.

The role operates Monday to Friday, from 8 am to 5 pm. This schedule allows for preparation before client communications and participation in internal support and team discussions. Client-facing communication is managed within structured daily timeframes to protect your time, minimize interruptions, and effectively manage client expectations.
