AI Software Engineer: The Gig

This pivotal role focuses on AI enablement, innovation, and scaling. You will supercharge engineering productivity by implementing advanced AI tools and workflows, while simultaneously exploring and prototyping cutting-edge AI developer technologies. A key focus will be standardizing secure, high-performing AI environments across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Continuously explore, evaluate, and test emerging AI technologies to identify opportunities for enhancing engineering productivity and developer experience.
• Monitor the performance, adoption, and effectiveness of existing engineering tools, analyzing usage patterns, gaps, and improvement opportunities.
• Build rapid, effective prototypes (e.g., prompts or workflows) that enable engineers to auto-generate Jira tasks, trigger background agents, and create PR-ready code with minimal input.
• Provide expert guidance and hands-on support to engineers seeking to elevate their AI tooling skills.
• Track and optimize AI tooling and infrastructure costs to ensure efficient, scalable, and sustainable usage across the engineering organization.
• Maintain strict care and commitment to information security practices to protect Healthengine and its customers.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Demonstrated track record of successful delivery of major technical initiatives.
• Typically 4+ years of successful execution at the Senior Engineer role or higher.
• Experience using and implementing Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
• Experience administering and maintaining application languages such as PHP, specifically with the Laravel framework.
• Experience administering and working with databases such as PostgreSQL.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes and AWS services.
• Demonstrated experience mentoring and training other engineers.
