Quick Summary

INFUSE is seeking a remote AI and Software Solutions Architect for a long-term B2B contract with working hours from 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm EEST, Monday through Friday. Serving as the primary solutions architect reporting to the Director of Technology, this senior individual contributor guides cross-team technical strategy across more than 500 repositories. The position requires 5+ years of software engineering experience with 3+ years leading production architecture decisions, practical AWS and Kubernetes skills, and proven experience in production LLM systems covering RAG and cost management. Strong skills in Python or Node.js, distributed messaging, and legacy migrations are also necessary.

OUR HIRING PROCESS:

We review applications against job requirements without using machine learning, ensuring every candidate receives a fair and detailed assessment from our seasoned recruiting professionals. Following this, you may be invited to submit a video interview for the hiring manager's review, often followed by a test or short project to assess team fit.

Successful candidates will then be invited for an interview with our hiring manager and/or the interview team. Please note: We do not conduct interviews via text message or Telegram. All interviews are conducted face-to-face or via Zoom, where you will meet our INFUSE team. Final offers are discussed live, ensuring you have the opportunity to speak with us directly.

We are seeking an experienced AI & Software Solutions Architect to drive architectural decisions across INFUSE's product portfolio and engineering teams. In this remote contract role, you will be instrumental in reviewing solutions from internal teams and external vendors, establishing robust engineering standards, and guiding critical legacy modernization initiatives. Your expertise will ensure that all production AI systems are reliable, secure, and cost-effective.

As the dedicated Solutions Architect within the Software Development department, you will report directly to the Director of Technology. This pivotal senior individual contributor role offers company-wide technical influence, without direct people management responsibilities. You will navigate a complex landscape of over 500 repositories, encompassing backend services, LLM-based products, and various legacy systems requiring ongoing modernization. Success hinges on strong technical judgment, clear communication, and the ability to influence engineering decisions across diverse teams. Your primary focus will be on architecture, comprehensive reviews, and cross-project improvements, complemented by prototyping and hands-on development tasks, with broader implementation handled by engineering teams.

What you will do:

  • Translate complex business needs into sound architectural decisions, clearly articulating trade-offs, costs, and risks while balancing technical quality with delivery priorities.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of code, architecture, and vendor deliverables, providing concise, actionable findings, prioritizing improvements, and verifying resolution of critical issues.
  • Establish and champion shared engineering standards across all projects, including security protocols, documentation practices, service contracts, and observability frameworks, guiding teams in their adoption.
  • Define essential guardrails for production LLM and agentic systems, encompassing evaluation methodologies, prompt management strategies, model routing, multi-provider access, robust security measures, and effective cost control.
  • Lead and guide legacy modernization initiatives, including application decomposition, authorization modernization, workflow migration, and meticulous safe transition planning.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering and DevOps teams to advance Kubernetes adoption, streamline deployment workflows, enhance observability, and diagnose architectural bottlenecks.
  • Develop prototypes and reference implementations to validate architectural decisions, and contribute to the hiring process by conducting technical interviews for engineering roles.

What you will bring:

  • Over 5 years of experience in software engineering, with at least 3 years dedicated to owning architectural decisions for production systems as an architect, principal engineer, or technical lead. Demonstrated experience taking solutions from initial concept through implementation to production.
  • Profound understanding of computer science and system design fundamentals for scalable, high-load distributed systems, including expertise in reliability, failure handling, observability, and architectural trade-offs.
  • Extensive hands-on AWS experience in designing and operating production services, coupled with practical Kubernetes experience and the ability to collaborate effectively with DevOps on deployment and operational enhancements.
  • Proven experience delivering production LLM-based solutions, with a comprehensive understanding of their lifecycle from business need and design through implementation and operation. Relevant experience includes RAG (Retrieval Augmented Generation), tool calling, multi-provider integrations, and cost optimization.
  • Experience in evaluating and monitoring LLM systems for quality, latency, and cost, utilizing observability and evaluation tooling such as Langfuse or similar platforms.
  • Demonstrated experience reviewing other teams' code and architecture, and successfully guiding legacy modernization or migration projects.
  • A strong software engineering background, ideally with substantial Python and/or Node.js experience, and the adaptability to review and work across diverse technology stacks, including legacy PHP.
  • Expertise with PostgreSQL and NoSQL database design and query optimization, alongside experience with asynchronous, event-driven systems utilizing brokers like Kafka or RabbitMQ.
  • Practical experience with agentic coding tools such as Claude Code, Codex, or similar, demonstrating sound judgment in verifying generated code and assessing proposed changes.
  • Exceptional technical writing and communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with both engineers and non-technical stakeholders. Ability to clearly link technical decisions to business goals, cost, risk, and measurable outcomes, taking responsibility for consequences and adapting approaches based on evidence.
  • B2 or higher English proficiency for seamless collaboration with distributed teams.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with AIOps: applying AI to operational workflows, including anomaly detection, alert correlation, incident triage, and observability.
  • Understanding of when classical ML is more appropriate than an LLM, and practical experience with MLOps.
  • Experience with Keycloak or Azure AD SSO migrations.
  • Experience with Backstage.
  • Experience conducting vendor delivery audits.
  • AWS Solutions Architect – Professional or Anthropic Claude certification.

We offer:

  • Competitive salary, tailored to your experience and skills, with monthly payments in USD.
  • Full Remote work opportunity.
  • Work schedule: Monday-Friday, 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm EEST (including 60-minute breaks).
  • Opportunity to work with cutting-edge AI and cloud solutions.
  • Access to the latest AI tools and premium subscriptions.
  • Long-term B2B collaboration.
  • Paid sick leave, vacation, and public holidays.
  • Reduced Fridays during the summer.
