WordPress Web Developer (Remote Contract)

We are seeking a skilled WordPress Web Developer to build and refine a high-quality marketing website. This role focuses on delivering a modern, premium user experience. You will collaborate closely with our team to implement precise page layouts, enhance visuals, optimize site performance, and establish robust SEO fundamentals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain WordPress pages utilizing the Gutenberg block editor (and Elementor, if necessary).
• Implement pixel-perfect layouts, ensuring strong typography, clean spacing, and responsive design behavior.
• Develop reusable site components, including headers, footers, templates, and patterns, for consistency across pages.
• Optimize site performance, focusing on Core Web Vitals, image optimization, caching, and minification techniques.
• Execute technical SEO setup, including Yoast/RankMath configuration, basic schema markup, sitemaps generation, and indexing support.
• Troubleshoot and resolve theme/plugin conflicts and UI bugs rapidly.
• Optional: Apply custom CSS, child theme adjustments, and light PHP modifications as needed.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Strong practical experience with WordPress (themes, templates, Gutenberg, site structure).
• Expert proficiency in HTML/CSS, including responsive design principles, layout systems, and clean spacing implementation.
• Practical experience in SEO and website performance optimization.
• Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring high design polish.
• Ability to work independently and provide clear progress communication.
• Comfortable with basic JavaScript (nice to have).

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have):

• Experience with WordPress.com and domain/DNS setup.
• Ability to execute Figma-to-WordPress builds.
• Knowledge of accessibility best practices (WCAG basics).
• Awareness of Copy/UX principles, particularly for consulting or B2B sites.

• Fast loading speeds, clean site structure, and strong SEO configuration are established.
• Reusable components are created, leading to less manual editing and easier scaling.
