WordPress Developer
We are looking for an enthusiastic WordPress developer who is responsible for developing, customizing, and optimizing WordPress websites. You play an essential role in realizing user-friendly and technically solid websites, using your expertise to strengthen our organization's online presence.
Tasks
- Developing and customizing WordPress themes and plugins according to project requirements
- Implementing front-end functionalities with HTML, CSS, JavaScript and other relevant web technologies
- Blog/content section (SEO-ready)
- WhatsApp chat button (direct contact, to be answered manually)
- Pop-up questionnaire
- Integrating APIs and web services to expand functionality
- Optimizing websites for speed, security, and user-friendliness
- Maintaining and keeping existing WordPress websites up-to-date
- Testing and debugging code to resolve bugs and performance issues
- Documenting development work and technical specifications
Qualifications
- Demonstrable experience with web development within WordPress environments
- Thorough knowledge of PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript and relevant frameworks such as React or Angular (optional)
- Experience with REST APIs, web services and dealing with databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL
- Familiarity with version control systems such as GitHub or SVN
- Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure is a plus
- Understanding of UI/UX principles and responsive design for optimal user experience
- Good communication skills in Dutch and English
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving ability for debugging and optimization
- Experience with software development tools such as Visual Studio, TFS or CI/CD pipelines is a plus
