We are seeking a WordPress Developer on a contract basis to build and launch a professional website. Responsibilities
- Pick a WordPress theme
- Customize the WordPress theme to match project requirements
- Build and structure key pages (certification, membership, about, resources)
- Set up navigation, footer, and overall site architecture
- Implement forms (membership applications, certification applications, contact forms, job board)
- Configure and launch a basic member directory (plugin-based)
- Configure and launch job board
- Ensure responsive design across desktop and mobile devices
- Optimize pages for speed, performance, and SEO best practices
- Install and configure essential plugins (SEO, security, caching, forms)
- Implement Schema markup across web pages
- Collaborate on content implementation and layout decisions
- Prepare the site for launch and perform basic QA testing
Requirements
- Experience building WordPress websites using themes and page builders
- Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, and basic PHP
- Familiarity with WordPress plugins and customization
- Understanding of responsive design and mobile optimization
- Ability to work independently and deliver within agreed timelines
- Good communication and ability to follow structured requirements
- Experience with directory or listing plugins
- Basic SEO knowledge (on-page structure, page speed)
- Experience working on membership or association websites
Compensation
$30 – $60 per hour (contract)
Total project budget: approximately $2,000 – $5,000, depending on experience and scope
