Responsibilities
- Develop, customize, and maintain WordPress websites using PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and related technologies.
- Create responsive web designs that are compatible across various devices and browsers, employing frameworks such as Bootstrap and SCSS.
- Integrate third-party APIs and develop RESTful services to enhance website functionality.
- Implement SEO best practices to improve website visibility and performance.
- Utilize version control systems like Git and GitHub for code management and collaboration.
- Automate deployment processes using Jenkins, Ansible, or similar DevOps tools.
- Conduct unit testing and debugging to ensure robust performance across platforms.
- Collaborate with UX/UI designers to translate wireframes into functional websites that deliver excellent user experiences.
- Manage databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB for data storage solutions.
- Optimize website speed and security through best practices in web development and server configuration (e.g., AWS, Azure).
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle (SDLC), including planning, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
Requirements
- Proven experience in WordPress development with a strong portfolio of live projects.
- Proficiency in PHP, JavaScript (including frameworks like React or Angular), HTML5, CSS3 (with SCSS), and AJAX.
- Familiarity with front-end libraries such as jQuery and modern UI/UX principles.
- Experience working with databases including MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server or MongoDB.
- Knowledge of server environments like Linux or Windows Server; experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of web services (REST/SOAP), APIs, GraphQL, and XML/JSON data formats.
- Familiarity with version control systems such as Git or SVN; experience with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or similar tools.
- Ability to develop custom themes/plugins for WordPress; experience with Drupal or other CMS platforms is a plus.
- Knowledge of optimization techniques for SEO and responsive web design principles.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with the ability to work independently or within a team environment.
- Relevant qualifications in computer science or web development are desirable but not essential.
