Expérience Béarn, a leading provider of outdoor leisure and sports in the Pyrenees, is seeking a passionate Web Development Intern to optimize the performance and functionality of our high-traffic Joomla website. This is a unique opportunity to apply and advance your specific Joomla expertise within a small, autonomous team environment.
Key Internship Responsibilities
Working closely with the communication manager, you will focus on critical development and optimization projects:
- Joomla Development & Integration: Create and integrate new templates, components, or custom modules within the Joomla environment.
- Technical SEO Optimization: Conduct audits and implement improvements for site loading speed and technical configuration of the Joomla instance.
- Maintenance & Debugging: Identify and resolve bugs across the Joomla core, extensions, and underlying PHP/MySQL code.
- System Updates: Assist with the migration or updating of Joomla versions and associated extensions.
- Database Performance: Optimize MySQL queries related to core site functionalities.
Required Skills & Qualifications
We are seeking a proactive and autonomous student with the following background:
- Currently pursuing a degree (Bac+2 to Bac+5 equivalent) in Web Development, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Mandatory Expertise: Demonstrated mastery of the Joomla ecosystem, including installation, configuration, and module/component development.
- Solid proficiency in PHP and MySQL (essential for Joomla development).
- Strong command of HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
- Ability to manage tasks independently and organize work effectively in a remote setting.
