Tech Lead Payments

About the Opportunity:

We are seeking a Tech Lead to technically lead the team, ensuring the continuous evolution of our platform with quality, scalability, security, and high performance. This professional will act as a technical and managerial reference for the team, responsible for directing architecture, best development practices, and strategic decisions for critical payment processing systems, as well as supporting the growth of developers and collaborating closely with Product, Design, Compliance, and business areas.

Main Responsibilities:

• Technically lead the team, guiding architectural decisions and best development practices;
• Ensure the quality, performance, scalability, and security of developed solutions, including transaction processing, reconciliation, and integrations with payment methods;
• Act hands-on in development, code review, and definition of standards;
• Lead and support the team in delivering projects and product evolutions related to payments (checkout, gateways, anti-fraud, payment split, etc.);
• Work together with Product and Design in defining viable and efficient technical solutions for payment flows;
• Promote continuous improvement of processes, tools, and engineering practices;
• Ensure observability, reliability, idempotency, and security of applications dealing with sensitive financial data;
• Support the technical development of the team through mentorship, feedback, and pair programming;
• Act in solving complex problems and critical incidents, including failures in transactional flows;
• Contribute to the evolution of the platform architecture (monolith, microservices, integrations with acquirers, sub-acquirers, and financial institutions);
• Ensure compliance with regulations and standards in the financial sector (PCI-DSS, LGPD, Central Bank regulations, where applicable);
• Act as an agent for disseminating best development practices using AI (Artificial Intelligence).

Requirements:

• Completed higher education in fields such as Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related areas;
• Solid experience in software development (preferably with JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, React, PHP, and Laravel);
• Experience with system architecture definition and best practices (Clean Architecture, SOLID, etc.);
• Experience with distributed environments, REST APIs, and integrations with payment methods (gateways, acquirers, PIX, card);
• Experience with cloud (AWS, GCP, or Azure);
• Experience with relational databases;
• Previous experience technically leading teams or projects, ideally in financial or payment products;
• Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD, and observability practices;
• Understanding of security and compliance requirements applied to payment systems (PCI-DSS, encryption, sensitive data handling).

• Experience with event-driven architecture;

• Previous experience in fintechs, payment methods, or financial institutions;
• Experience with banking systems and high-volume transactional processing;
