As a Staff Fullstack Engineer at HERO, you will act as a technical force multiplier within a cross-functional product squad. You will collaborate closely with Product, Design, and engineering peers from discovery through rollout, shaping architecture, guiding system decisions, and ensuring robust, observable, and durable solutions.

Your Mission

• Lead the design and implementation of full-stack features utilizing TypeScript, Node.js, Vue 3, and PHP.
• Make strategic architectural decisions to ensure scalability, performance, and stability.
• Own systems end-to-end: from early discovery to release, monitoring, and continuous improvements.
• Build robust APIs (REST, GraphQL) and integrate complex backend systems.
• Drive engineering excellence through testing, observability, documentation, and clean architecture.
• Collaborate closely with Product & Design to clarify requirements and define solutions.
• Mentor engineers across teams and help elevate engineering standards organization-wide.
• Drive AI-assisted engineering practices and identify opportunities for AI product features.

Requirements: Your Superpowers

• 6+ years of professional experience as a Fullstack Engineer / Software Engineer.
• Proven staff-level technical leadership: mentoring, architecture definition, and system ownership.
• Excellent hands-on experience with TypeScript (frontend & backend).
• Strong working knowledge of Vue.js, Node.js, and modern Single Page Application (SPA) development.
• Solid backend engineering experience covering APIs, caching, and distributed systems.
• Strong database skills (MySQL / PostgreSQL) plus experience with Redis or Elasticsearch.
• Comfortable in cloud-native environments: CI/CD, containerization, monitoring, and DevOps concepts.
• AI-native mindset: daily use of AI tools and understanding of integrating AI into product features.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work across disciplines.
• Calm under ambiguity, proactive, pragmatic, and driven by impact.

Bonus Superpowers

• Experience building AI-powered product features suchs as assistants, smart suggestions, or workflow automation.
• Understanding of prompt design, RAG patterns, vector search, or evaluation of AI systems.
• Background in ERP, field-service, construction, trades, or vertical SaaS products.
• Experience working in distributed or remote-first squads.
• German language skills around B1 (optional and not required).
