At AgencyAnalytics, our Staff Developers are T-shaped, operating broadly across multiple technical domains while diving deep into specific problem areas. This role combines strategy, building, and mentorship, requiring comfort with writing production code and setting architectural direction.
As a Staff Developer, you will engage in initiatives from strategy and discovery phases to ideate possibilities. You will experiment with and drive changes to existing system architectures, coach and mentor the engineering team, and collaborate with other Staff Developers and technical leaders to balance efficiency and quality.
As a Staff Developer, you'll:
- Lead cross-functional technical projects, building and reviewing architectures.
- Set and drive coding standards, technical processes, and tooling across engineering.
- Drive AI tool adoption throughout Engineering.
- Prioritize and manage multiple projects from start to finish, ensuring quality, stability, and timely delivery.
- Set a high-quality bar through code reviews and mentoring, actively improving the codebase.
- Collaborate across teams to foster an open approach to architecture, technical patterns, and complex problem-solving.
What You'll Bring
- Over 8 years of SaaS application development experience, with a proven track record of leading successful technical initiatives.
- Previous experience as a Staff Developer or higher, ready to contribute immediately at that level.
- Daily use and embrace of AI coding tools like Claude.
- Hands-on expertise in backend technologies (PHP or similar).
- Experience architecting complex systems, balancing performance, scale, and developer experience.
- Fluency in performance best practices, including monitoring and optimizing user experience.
- Close collaboration with other Staff on foundational engineering decisions and product development.
- Ability to thrive in ambiguity and operate at various levels, from system architecture to pair programming.
