Spring 2026 Intern

Rock the Vote, a 501(c)(3) organization based in Washington, DC, is dedicated to protecting voting rights and ensuring equal access to the ballot box for all Americans. We are seeking passionate, energetic, and enthusiastic Spring 2026 Interns for a paid, fully remote position. We encourage applications from individuals with experience or interest in research, public policy, voting rights, social justice, civic engagement, partnerships, social media, marketing, events, campaigns, and elections.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage constituency communications, including voter registration and election deadlines.
  • Create engaging social media content, with an emphasis on video.
  • Draft explainers, statements, emails, fact sheets, and press kit materials.
  • Blog about current political issues.
  • Assist in developing creative programs to support Rock the Vote’s mission.
  • Coordinate voter education with partner organizations.
  • Develop and maintain resources to educate young people about elections and voting rights.
  • Support the civic technology program through research and outreach.
  • Create ads to improve SEO.
  • Inventory art assets for content creation and distribution.
  • Expand the volunteer program to increase impact and capacity.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Strong critical thinking skills.
  • Self-starter with strong collaboration skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership and achievement in academic, professional, or extracurricular settings.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse teams and communities.
  • Attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multitask.
  • Good humor, independence, and flexibility.
  • Affinity for youth civic engagement.
  • Passion for Rock the Vote’s mission and goals.

Please note any experience with journalism, communications, public relations, elections, campaigns, research, policy, social media, video production, event planning, fundraising, project development, HTML, CSS, SEO, JavaScript, PHP, Bootstrap, Photoshop, or UI/UX design.

Hours and Compensation:

Interns will work up to 29 hours per week and will be paid Washington, DC’s hourly minimum wage ($17.95/hour).
