One Inc seeks a Software Engineering Manager to lead and expand development teams for a core SaaS Insurance Payments platform. This pivotal leadership role involves transforming and modernizing the Digital Payment platform, aligning with our long-range technology strategy, and evolving One Inc’s AI-enabled software development methodology.

The ideal candidate combines excellent technical skills, outstanding leadership, keen analytical abilities, strong business insight, and extensive SaaS product development experience. This multi-functional position requires expertise in team leadership, technical acumen, and internal stakeholder communication within a high-growth organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Management & Leadership

  • Lead and oversee global teams of professionals, including software engineers, leveraging Agentic AI in the development process.
  • Coordinate team efforts, ensuring high-quality outputs, and fostering collaboration to drive innovation, quality, and efficiency.
  • Build an inclusive technology team comprising employees and contractors across multiple vendors and geographic regions.
  • Effectively manage and coordinate teams on multiple concurrent projects, ensuring timely progress and high-quality deliverables.
  • Drive strategic technology initiatives by collaborating with cross-functional teams (Product Managers, Architects, Engineers, SMEs, etc.).
  • Work consultatively to improve communication, teamwork, and alignment across internal and external teams.
  • Lead design and code reviews for new product development.

Software Development

  • Requirements Analysis: Lead and participate in Program Increment and Sprint planning, User Story Decomposition and Sizing, and Team Member assignment of User Stories and Sprint Tasks.
  • Design and Development: Translate business requirements into technical designs and develop high-quality, scalable, and resilient code.
  • Coding Standards: Adhere to coding principles such as SOLID and DRY while applying Secure Coding Standards.
  • Code Management: Manage code, including conducting code reviews and utilizing version control.

API Development

  • Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture to develop and support the transition to a microservice architecture.
  • Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of the microservice architecture, including developing performant, scalable APIs that integrate with external entities.
  • Adopt a continuous improvement philosophy for API standards and frameworks, ensuring new APIs are fully backward compatible and avoid breaking changes.
  • Lead the implementation of an API Test Automation Framework, including Unit Testing and Performance/Load Testing.

Artificial Intelligence Enablement

  • Contribute to and evolve One Inc’s AI-enabled software development methodology.
  • Guide team members in leveraging AI tools (for code generation, refactoring, and documentation) while ensuring alignment with secure coding standards and architectural principles.
  • Monitor emerging AI capabilities in software engineering and proactively evaluate and adopt tools to enhance team productivity and platform reliability.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Collaborate with the Security team to maintain PCI compliance of platforms.
  • Work with Quality Assurance teams to remediate testing gaps and prevent defects from reaching production.
  • Influence and contribute to end-to-end product architecture and provide feedback on product strategy.

Operational Excellence & Incident Management

  • Serve as an engineering lead for escalated client-impacting events, driving issue resolution and long-term preventive actions.
  • Respond to production issues according to SLAs, ensuring quick resolution and incident communication.
  • Troubleshoot production issues by leading engineers to implement fixes while ensuring platform stability and performance.
  • Provide input into long-range product requirements, best practices, and operational guidelines to improve platform reliability and serviceability.

Performance Monitoring & Engineering Standards

  • Create and manage Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to continuously elevate engineering standards.
  • Contribute to documenting One Inc engineering best practices and ensure consistent team adherence.
  • Continuously monitor platform performance metrics and proactively mitigate potential scalability issues.

Skills & Abilities:

Programming Languages:

  • Expertise in C#, .NET Core, Java, and REST API.
  • Mastery in multiple programming languages and platforms.
  • Familiarity with PHP is a plus.

Artificial Intelligence:

  • Working knowledge of AI-enhanced development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, and similar platforms to accelerate coding, improve code quality, and streamline debugging workflows.

Cloud Technologies:

  • Experience in Azure or AWS.
  • Experience with Cloud Native Architecture, Containers, and Microservices.
  • Experience in large-scale implementations of cloud-native solutions.

Frameworks & Patterns:

  • Proficient in TDD (Test Driven Development), Domain Driven Architecture, Service Oriented Architecture, and Self-Contained Services.
  • Mastery in Design Patterns and Clean, Secure Coding Standards.
  • Adherence to coding principles like SOLID and DRY.

CRM Frameworks:

  • Familiarity with PHP SugarCRM Framework is a plus.

Industry-Specific Experience

  • Experience working as a software engineer in the insure-tech or fin-tech space.
  • Experience in credit card transaction processing.
  • Demonstrated success in designing solutions for high volume, scalability, and availability in these domains.

Project Management & Agile Experience

  • More than 10 years of software development experience.
  • Ability to independently craft and deliver large, complex projects.
  • Experience with Agile development methodology (e.g., Scrum).
  • Experience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) is desirable.

Communication & Collaboration Skills

  • Proficient in effective written and verbal English communication.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate across cross-functional teams.

Leadership and Influence

Experience & Management

  • 10 years of experience in the Information Technology field.
  • 5+ years of API development experience.
  • 3+ years of management experience within the IT sector.

  • Ability to mentor and coach team members on architectural concepts and advance their technical development.
