About Speed2Net

Speed2Net is an innovative Italian startup, established in Turin in 2021, specializing in structured professional networking for B2B events. Over five years, we have developed a proprietary mobile platform designed to enhance connections between professionals at trade fairs, conferences, and corporate gatherings.

Our core offering features scheduled bilateral sessions: pre-planned one-to-one meetings with automatic rotation among participants. This approach maximizes the value of each interaction and minimizes the inefficiencies of unstructured networking. Speed2Net currently serves active clients, delivers live events, and maintains a dynamic product roadmap, supported by a lean, quality-focused technical team.

Our Technology Stack

Our robust hybrid cloud/on-premises architecture encompasses the entire development chain:

  • Cross-Platform Mobile Clients: Developed with React Native (iOS and Android), featuring WebRTC integration for video sessions via a customized Twilio library.
  • Backend Services on AWS: Includes legacy ASP.NET APIs (IIS/Windows), modern NestJS microservices with WebSocket, Java/Spring Boot for data export, and MongoDB as the primary database.
  • Cloud Infrastructure: Leveraging AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, API Gateway, ECR, and Twilio.
  • Evolving On-Premises Lab: Utilizes Proxmox VE hypervisor on dedicated hardware, Windows Server 2022 VMs (IIS/Node.js), Ubuntu 24.04 VMs with Docker/NGINX, and MinIO object-compatible storage.
  • Website & Marketing Tools: Built on WordPress with internally developed custom PHP plugins.

The Role: Curricular Internship for Software Development

We are seeking a motivated intern to join our team, working closely with the CTO on practical software development and IT infrastructure management. This curricular internship is structured in agreement with Politecnico di Torino.

You will gain hands-on experience with real production and test technologies, following a progressive integration path with increasing responsibilities based on your demonstrated skills and contributions.

Areas of Work

  • Develop and maintain backend components (NestJS, REST API, WebSocket) on Windows Server VMs and Docker Linux environments.
  • Support the evolution of React Native mobile clients (iOS and Android), including bug fixes, SDK integrations, and library updates.
  • Manage and configure the on-premises development environment (Proxmox VE, Linux/Windows VMs, Docker, NGINX reverse proxy).
  • Perform deployment and monitoring tasks on AWS (EC2, S3, Lambda, ECR, API Gateway).
  • Assist with the progressive migration of services from AWS to our on-premises infrastructure.
  • Develop and maintain custom WordPress plugins (PHP) for tracking, QR code generation, and platform integration.
  • Prepare and update technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, operational procedures, and deployment guides.
  • Collaborate on release cycle management and integration testing.

  • Familiarity with fundamental concepts of networks, operating systems, and client-server architectures.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail in documenting work, and clear technical communication skills.
  • Capable of working autonomously on assigned tasks and collaboratively within a team towards shared objectives.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)

  • Experience with React Native or other cross-platform mobile development frameworks.
  • Knowledge of Docker and virtualization environments (e.g., Proxmox, VMware, Hyper-V).

What We Offer

  • A structured curricular internship with a formal agreement between Speed2Net and your university.

  • Comprehensive exposure to a modern full-stack architecture, encompassing mobile, backend, cloud, and on-premises infrastructure.
  • A flexible work environment that fosters professional growth and encourages direct responsibility.
