Senior Software Engineer Contractor (Remote, US Based)
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer Contractor for a long-term, hourly contract engagement (30–40 hours per week, targeting 40 hours) at $50 per hour. This role is open only to candidates currently based in the United States who are authorized to work without visa sponsorship.
About the Role:
We are seeking a senior contractor to design, build, and support modern web applications and integrations utilizing Microsoft .NET, SQL Server, and related technologies. You will deliver maintainable, production-ready solutions, working across backend services and web UI layers while collaborating with product and technical stakeholders.
What You Will Do
- Build and maintain backend services using C# and ASP.NET, including API based service layers.
- Develop and enhance web applications using ASP.NET MVC and either Razor Pages or Blazor.
- Build and maintain front-end experiences with ReactJS, ensuring clean integration with API-driven backends.
- Design, implement, and optimize SQL Server database objects, including tables, views, stored procedures, and indexing strategies.
- Write clear, testable code with attention to performance, security, and maintainability.
- Participate in technical design discussions, code reviews, and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into deliverables, estimates, and milestones.
- Support deployments and ongoing operations, including diagnosing production issues and improving reliability.
Required Skills and Experience
- Strong professional experience with C# and .NET in production environments.
- Strong experience with SQL Server, including relational design, query tuning, and data access patterns.
- Experience building web applications using either ASP.NET MVC, Razor Pages, or Blazor.
- Experience building RESTful APIs using ASP.NET Web API or modern .NET API approaches.
- Understanding of authentication and authorization patterns for web applications.
- Ability to work independently, communicate clearly, and deliver senior-level output with minimal oversight.
Nice to Have
- ReactJS experience, including routing, state management patterns, and API integration.
- NextJS experience.
- Experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, and/or PHP.
- Knowledge of Tyler Odyssey integrations and related workflows.
- Web hosting knowledge, including deployment and configuration, IIS, SSL, DNS, and general troubleshooting.
