Summary:

As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will support our team and enhance our existing development infrastructure by implementing automation to streamline our pipeline.

Key tooling includes Terraform, Kubernetes, and AWS services.

This is a fully remote role, reporting to Ops Engineering Management.

Your day to day:

  • Administering our current collection of Linux servers, which will evolve into a larger set of EC2 instances.
  • Maintaining our production Oracle and MySQL databases.
  • Collaborating with developers to improve and automate testing, deployment, and monitoring processes.
  • Writing and maintaining various scripts, primarily in PHP.
  • Diagnosing and assisting in resolving production issues.
  • Providing 3rd line technical support for customer and client tickets.
  • Thriving in a fast-paced, growing company where priorities are dynamic.

  • Continuously seeking process improvements and driving efficiency.

What we are looking for:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience deploying, monitoring, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.
  • Background in Linux administration.
  • Scripting/programming knowledge, including at least Unix shell scripting.
  • Strong networking understanding (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewalls, etc.).
  • Solid understanding of technologies such as Apache, Nginx, Databases (relational and key-value), DNS servers, etc.
  • Understanding of cloud-based infrastructures, specifically AWS.
  • Experience with systems for automating deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications, such as Kubernetes.
  • Experience with Terraform for infrastructure as code.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt rapidly to changing environments.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Exceptional troubleshooting and creative problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills in English.

Nice to have:

  • Experience deploying and supporting multiple staging/development environments.
  • Experience maintaining continuous integration and delivery pipelines with tools like ArgoCD or CircleCI.
  • Experience implementing, operating, and supporting open-source tools for network and security monitoring and management on Linux/Unix platforms.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL.
  • Experience with security in AWS.
