Quick Summary

Awin AG is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for their Enterprise Integrations team to design, build, and maintain secure, scalable software for their marketing platform, mentor junior colleagues, and establish team standards. Candidates need at least 6 years of commercial software engineering experience, strong front-end skills (ideally Angular), extensive cloud development using AWS (Lambda, ECS, DynamoDB, Opensearch), Terraform, Typescript, Java v21 with Maven and Spring Boot v3, Docker, and expertise in relational/non-relational databases, RESTful APIs in microservices, Git, CI/CD, and agile processes (Scrum/Kanban).

Purpose of Position

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our Enterprise Integrations team, dedicated to delivering excellent service for our customers.

About You

Working within one of our agile Engineering teams, this role reports to an Engineering Manager. You will collaborate closely with other engineers and product managers to design, build, and maintain secure, scalable, and well-tested software for our award-winning marketing platform.

You are responsible for writing clean, secure, and well-tested code. You follow best-practice guidelines and contribute to their improvement, ensuring your code is open by default and easily reusable. As part of a team, you will extend, maintain, and operate assigned parts of our platform.

You will coach and mentor more junior colleagues, participate in knowledge-sharing activities within your team and the wider Engineering practice. You will guide your team by establishing standards, best practices, and policies.

You possess a strong understanding of user needs within your service and work with the product owner and other team members to translate these into technical solutions. You will work through the entire lifecycle of a service or product, from understanding requirements and development to deployment, support, and maintenance. You demonstrate an understanding of deadlines, find pragmatic solutions, and are proactive in raising potential risks.

You will help the team solve challenges that arise as our business grows and develops, working collaboratively to ensure the service continues to meet the needs of our business and its customers.

The Team

You will be joining Team Coral in our Advertiser Tribe, part of the Growth Domain. This team is dedicated to providing bespoke solutions to integrate advertiser systems with our own.

As a team responsible for delivering some of the most in-demand features for our customers, you will occasionally have contact with customers to understand their needs and pain points. Your work will be highly visible, and every change you make can have a positive impact on our customers.

Team Coral practices Scrum, and you will have the opportunity to bring new ideas to the team, whether introducing alternative ways to solve problems, enhancing our ways of working, or bringing new insights to your teammates on best practices for new technology.

Along with access to the O’Reilly learning platform, hackathons, and cross-team initiatives, you will have plenty of opportunities to learn and gain experience from people in the many other teams across the engineering department at Awin.

Skills & Expertise

Soft Skills

The technical skills and expertise listed below are as important to us as your soft skills. We are interested in someone who is open, enthusiastic, and interested in positively contributing to the team's culture. We are passionate about continuous improvement and seek someone who can demonstrate a growth mindset and how they have learned from mistakes. In Team Coral, we value everyone’s opinion and experience as much as we value delivery and team cohesion, and we consider a challenge and commit mindset to be crucial to balance these.
