Senior Scala Software Engineer: Storefront Environment

We are seeking a Senior Scala Software Engineer to join our Software, System, and Test Engineering group. This role involves maintaining and enhancing services powering the Storefront Environment, collaborating closely with a distributed team across US and EU time zones, and contributing to the development roadmap. Responsibilities

  • Maintain and improve services that power the Storefront Environment.
  • Support bug fixes and implement enhancements to applications in Production.
  • Mentor and help engineers become more productive by removing blockers.
  • Produce technical documentation of workflows related to the Storefront.
  • Work and collaborate with a team distributed between US and EU time zones.
  • Work closely with engineers to gather requirements and develop the team’s roadmap.
  • Explore and engage in unfamiliar languages, tools, and technologies.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional experience as a Software Engineer.
  • Experience developing in Scala, Node.js, and JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • Experience in PHP and/or gRPC is a bonus.
  • Experience with evolving and scaling high-throughput applications.
  • Ability to contribute to project discovery, design, and implementation.
  • Desire to work in a collaborative, open environment on an Agile team as a contributor and mentor.
  • Fluent English language proficiency (C1 Advanced).
  • BS degree or higher in Computer Science or related technical field.
