WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR?

We seek a Senior Developer specializing in the Magento 2 / Adobe Commerce ecosystem with extensive experience in payment and security integrations (PCI-DSS). The ideal candidate will demonstrate autonomy in managing projects with evolving premises and fixed scopes, ensuring meticulous documentation, traceability, and effective scope change management.

ATTENTION! This is an exclusive PJ (contractor) position for a 2-month engagement.

WHAT WILL THIS PROFESSIONAL DO?

  • Develop and customize Magento 2 payment method integrations using the native Gateway Command pattern (builders/handlers), Vault for token management, and checkout extension via Knockout.js/UI Components.
  • Architect decoupled and asynchronous PHP backend solutions for REST API consumption, OAuth2 client credentials authentication, and webhook processing via queues and cron.
  • Ensure payment flow resilience and security compliance, implementing idempotency patterns, timeout recovery, log masking, and strict adherence to PCI-DSS scope (SAQ D).
  • Proactively identify ambiguities in functional specifications, documenting technical decisions and team premises to maintain continuous development.

WHAT IS NECESSARY FOR THE POSITION?

Magento 2 / Adobe Commerce (Advanced):

  • Mastery of the Gateway Command pattern (Authorize/Capture/Cancel/Refund as separate builders/handlers).
  • Practical experience with Vault (native Magento payment tokens) for card self-service operations.
  • Customization of native checkout via Knockout.js and UI Components for proprietary field inclusion.
  • Proficiency in system.xml, di.xml, ACL, and structuring distributable modules via Composer.

PHP Backend and API Integrations:

  • Development of decoupled HTTP clients with OAuth2 client credentials authentication and automatic token renewal.
  • Asynchronous webhook processing using queues and cron jobs.
  • Implementation of idempotency patterns and re-query routines for timed-out operations.

Security and Compliance (PCI-DSS):

  • Experience with scenarios where card data (PAN and CVV) transits through the application backend prior to tokenization.
  • Technical experience in a PCI-DSS scoped environment (ideally SAQ D or equivalent).
  • Strict log masking and best practices for protecting sensitive data in transit.

Payment Frontend and Anti-fraud:

  • Manipulation of asynchronous third-party scripts in checkout for 3DS 2.0 flows (frictionless and challenge with iframe/modal) and device fingerprinting scripts.

Mastery of the Payment Market:

  • Proven history of direct integration with payment gateways and acquirers (e.g., Cielo, Rede, Stripe, PagSeguro, Adyen, Braintree, or similar).
  • Solid knowledge of 3DS 2.0 flow, tokenization, and card vaults.
  • Understanding of PIX specificities (QR Code generation, webhook reception, and reconciliation).

Attitude and Engineering Management:

  • Autonomy to identify and resolve specification ambiguities without hindering development.
  • Discipline in documenting premises and distinguishing client decisions from team assumptions.
  • Experience with fixed-scope project dynamics (precise estimation, proactive change signaling, and ambiguity control).

WHAT WOULD BE A DIFFERENTIAL?

  • Experience publishing extensions on the Adobe Commerce Marketplace and proficiency with ecosystem automated validation and certification tools.
  • Development of robust automated tests (PHPUnit) focused on proprietary business rules.

PROCESS STEPS:

  1. Application
  2. Cultural Fit Assessment
  3. Technical Interview + Live Coding
