We are seeking an experienced Senior Full-Stack E-Commerce Engineer specializing in WordPress, WooCommerce, and payment integrations to lead the development, launch, and optimization of our e-commerce platforms. This role involves designing scalable system architectures, implementing robust web solutions, and ensuring seamless user experiences across various devices. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of modern web development frameworks, DevOps practices, and e-commerce best practices to drive innovative solutions that enhance our online presence.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and deployment of full-stack e-commerce applications using WordPress, WooCommerce, PHP, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and related technologies.
- Design and implement scalable system architectures utilizing cloud services such as AWS and Azure.
- Integrate secure payment gateways and ensure compliance with industry standards for online transactions.
- Develop RESTful APIs and web services to support dynamic front-end features and third-party integrations.
- Collaborate with UX/UI designers to create wireframes and user flows that optimize customer engagement.
- Manage version control using GitHub, SVN, or similar tools; implement CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment.
- Utilize containerization tools like Docker and configuration management systems such as Ansible for efficient deployment workflows.
- Maintain database systems including MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MongoDB, SQLite, ensuring data integrity and performance optimization.
- Implement front-end frameworks such as React, Angular, Bootstrap, and UI/UX best practices for responsive web design.
- Conduct unit testing and code reviews to uphold high-quality software standards within Agile SDLC methodologies.
- Monitor system performance using data visualization tools; troubleshoot issues proactively to minimize downtime.
- Stay current with industry trends in e-commerce technology, SEO strategies, web security protocols, and emerging development tools.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in full-stack web development with a strong focus on e-commerce platforms like WordPress and WooCommerce.
- Extensive knowledge of PHP, JavaScript (including TypeScript), HTML5/CSS3/SCSS, React, Angular, Node.js, and related front-end/back-end technologies.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure; familiarity with DevOps tools including Jenkins and Docker.
- Strong understanding of database management systems including MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MongoDB; proficiency in writing complex SQL queries.
- Experience with RESTful APIs, GraphQL APIs, SOAP web services; knowledge of API security best practices.
- Familiarity with system architecture design principles; experience deploying scalable applications in Linux/Unix environments.
- Knowledge of SEO best practices for e-commerce websites; expertise in web design principles that enhance user experience (UX/UI).
- Experience working within Agile teams using Jira or Trello; familiarity with SDLC processes from planning through deployment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on performance optimization and security enhancements.
- Relevant certifications in cloud computing (AWS/Azure), DevOps tools or full-stack development are a plus.

Key Responsibilities
- Upload and configure products in WordPress / WooCommerce.
- Configure and validate checkout flows (Stripe, ACH, credit/debit cards).
- Implement and test webhooks, order processing, and confirmations.
- Ensure tax, shipping, and payment logic functions correctly.
- Perform end-to-end QA testing (test orders, refunds, confirmations).
- Prepare platform for production launch.
- Lock and document final launch configuration.
Required Experience
- Senior-level experience with WordPress & WooCommerce.
- Strong understanding of e-commerce checkout systems.
- Experience with Stripe and/or ACH payment gateways.
- Full-stack capability (frontend, backend, APIs, webhooks).
- Prior experience supporting or leading live e-commerce launches.
- Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
- Professional communication and respect for scoped deliverables.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with high-SKU or multi-product stores.
- Familiarity with launch hardening, rollback plans, and QA processes.
- Comfort working under launch timelines.
- Startup or IP-based product launch experience (preferred, not required).
