As a Contract Engineer in an early-stage, high-growth company, you will significantly impact technical implementation and help steer our technology roadmap.
What You'll Get to Do:
- Help drive backend architecture evolution for Roofr's systems.
- Work in a fast-paced, cross-functional team that prioritizes quality engineering practices.
- Contribute to an early-stage company with an engineering-first culture.
- Contribute to all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), from planning to delivery.
- Collaborate with cross-functional team members to develop technical requirements.
- Write clean code to develop functional web applications and reusable libraries.
- Write unit, functional, and acceptance tests.
- Troubleshoot and support production applications.
What You'll Bring to the Role:
- 5+ years of software development experience.
- Proficiency with PHP language and the Laravel framework.
- A champion of agile methodologies who ships code often and confidently.
- Proven track record of breaking down complex problems into incremental solutions.
- Proactively recommends initiatives to improve engineering technologies and culture.
- Enjoys working in a collaborative environment focused on mutual growth.
- Takes ownership of the product and maintains high quality standards.
- Excellent communication skills and appreciation for good documentation.
- Understanding of the challenges inherent in early-stage company priorities.
