Omie is one of Brazil's fastest-growing ERPs, processing massive transaction volumes and connecting finances, sales, inventory, and accounting for thousands of companies. We are seeking a Senior Backend Developer specializing in ERP to work on the central engine of our platform.
We are looking for a software engineer with a strong business vision, not just a coder. You will architect solutions across various system modules, ensuring database scalability and platform readiness for major market changes, especially the Brazilian Tax Reform. If you possess "ERP DNA," excel at optimizing heavy queries, build business-centric software, and leverage Artificial Intelligence for high-level deliveries, join our team.
Responsibilities and Attributions
What you will do day-to-day
- ERP Architecture and Core: Develop, refactor, and maintain complex functionalities impacting multiple platform modules (Financial, Purchasing, Sales, Tax, and Accounting).
- Systemic Vision of Tax Reform: Lead the adaptation of the ERP engine for the new Brazilian fiscal scenario. Translate reform impacts into software architecture, ensuring end-to-end business rule compliance.
- Performance and High Volume: Optimize database performance. Work extensively with SQL Server, analyzing execution plans, creating indexes, managing deadlocks, and optimizing queries for millions of records.
- Modernization with AI: Utilize Artificial Intelligence tools for legacy code refactoring, test creation, code review, and enhancing productivity in secure, scalable development.
- Integrations and APIs: Build and optimize internal and external integrations, ensuring resilient, fast, and secure communication within the ERP ecosystem.
- Level 3 Support (N3) Assistance: Act as the team's "technical detective," investigating and resolving complex incidents escalated by the support team. This role provides deep product understanding through log analysis, diagnostic queries, and client-impacting problem resolution.
Requirements and Qualifications
Non-negotiable Requirements (What you need to have)
- ERP DNA (Business Vision): Solid, proven experience developing core management systems (ERPs), with a deep understanding of how business modules connect and impact client operations.
- PHP Seniority: Minimum of 5 years of proven experience with PHP programming, focusing on high availability, clean code, and design patterns for complex systems.
- SQL Server Mastery: Advanced optimization knowledge, including modeling, concurrency, locks, and performance strategies for gigantic databases.
- Fiscal Update (Tax Reform): Clear understanding of current business rules and how the Tax Reform (IBS/CBS, transition) affects enterprise management software engineering.
- AI Development: Practical experience using AI code assistants (Gemini CLI, Claude, GitHub Copilot, etc.) in daily workflow.
- Cloud Architecture & Best Practices: Experience with cloud environments, impeccable version control with Git/GitHub, CI/CD, and deployment pipelines.
