Join Our Engineering Team

The Appmax Development team implements product demands through technology and innovation, building and maintaining solutions that maximize partner results. We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Engineer, focused on Back-end and PHP (our primary stack), to join our Engineering team.

Your Responsibilities

• Define and evolve backend architecture, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.
• Provide technical leadership, sharing knowledge and promoting best practices.
• Collaborate closely with the product team to translate requirements into well-structured solutions.
• Conduct code reviews and ensure the adoption of solid development standards.
• Diagnose and resolve backend performance bottlenecks and critical issues.
• Make strategic technical decisions aligned with business objectives.
• Evaluate and implement new technologies as needed.
• Mentor development team members.

What You'll Bring

• 10+ years of backend development experience.
• Solid knowledge of PHP, including modern frameworks (Laravel, Symfony, or equivalents).
• Experience with distributed architecture, microservices, and scalable systems.
• Deep knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with messaging and queues (RabbitMQ, Kafka, etc.).
• Strong background in RESTful API design and integration best practices.
• Knowledge of event-driven architecture and patterns like CQRS and Event Sourcing.
• Experience with observability (Tracing, Logging, and Metrics).
• Experience deploying and monitoring applications in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or similar).
• Knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• A problem-solving mindset and technical leadership skills.

You'll Stand Out If You Have

• Experience with GoLang and willingness to use it for new services.
