- Expand our Backstage-based Internal Developer Portal through custom plugin development and integrations.
- Create robust Kubernetes abstractions with Helm and Crossplane to simplify and secure infrastructure consumption.
- Enhance platform observability using Datadog APM, tracing, and custom metrics.
- Contribute to AI-powered developer tools, including code review automation, AI agent integration, and LLM governance.
- Provide expert technical guidance to product teams on CI/CD, containerization, and cloud-native architectures.
- Document (TechDocs, MkDocs) and advocate for the "Golden Path" development practices across the organization.
Required Skills & Experience
- Go Expertise: Excellent knowledge of Go, capable of writing idiomatic, production-grade code for CLI, HTTP services, and Kubernetes controllers.
- Kubernetes Proficiency: Solid experience with Kubernetes workloads, Helm charts, RBAC, namespaces, and CRDs.
- Advanced Docker Skills: Expertise in multi-stage builds, image optimization, security hardening, and multi-architecture support.
- CI/CD Pipeline Management: Proven experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, specifically with GitLab CI/CD or similar tools.
- Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Experience: Hands-on experience with GKE, IAM, Workload Identity, Pub/Sub, and Artifact Registry.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Experience with Terraform and/or Crossplane.
- Linux & Scripting: Familiarity with Linux, shell scripting, and Bash automation.
- Git & Code Review: Strong command of Git, merge request workflows, and code review best practices.
- Platform Engineering Mindset: Focus on developer experience, self-service, cognitive load reduction, and understanding internal developer needs.
- Team Collaboration: Ability to thrive in small, autonomous, and distributed team environments.
Bonus Skills
- TypeScript and React experience for Backstage ecosystem contributions.
- Direct experience with Backstage and custom plugin development.
- Familiarity with Datadog (APM, tracing, custom metrics, dashboarding).
- Experience with AI/LLM platforms and AI-powered developer tools (e.g., Vertex AI, Anthropic Claude, Gemini API).
- Experience with messaging systems such as RabbitMQ and Google Pub/Sub.
- Knowledge of the PHP/Symfony ecosystem.
- Experience with Playwright for E2E testing automation.
- Experience with Renovate for dependency automation.
