The Role

We are seeking a skilled PHP Developer to join our engineering team in Warsaw (hybrid). In this role, you will contribute to building the core platforms and backend services for Batmaid and PFA. You will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining the web applications and services essential to our customers and cleaning teams. This involves close collaboration with product, data, and operations teams to deliver scalable, reliable, and user-friendly solutions.

AI-assisted development is an integral part of our workflow. Our team leverages modern AI tools to streamline routine tasks, allowing more focus on critical aspects like clean architecture, robust problem-solving, and high-quality code. We adopt a pragmatic approach, utilizing these tools where they genuinely add value while maintaining human judgment as the primary decision-maker.

What you will do

• Develop, test, and maintain dynamic web applications and backend services using PHP and Symfony.
• Write clear, well-tested, and maintainable code, including unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
• Apply SOLID principles and sound object-oriented design to ensure system cleanliness and scalability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, data, operations) to translate business needs into functional software.
• Thoughtfully utilize AI-assisted development to enhance both development speed and code quality.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and elevate engineering standards across the team.

Requirements

What we are looking for

• 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience building applications in PHP.
• A consistent practice of writing clear, understandable, and maintainable code.
• Proficiency in writing tests across the stack: unit, integration, and end-to-end.
• Strong knowledge of and experience in Domain-Driven Design (DDD).
• Solid foundation in SOLID principles, object-oriented programming, and Git.
• Working knowledge of Symfony.
• Excellent command of English (our primary working language).

Nice to have

• Experience with distributed systems and microservice design.
• Familiarity with CQRS or similar architectural patterns.
• Experience designing and building REST APIs.
