Position Overview: Part-Time Freelance WordPress Developer (Remote)
We are hiring a highly organized, detail-oriented WordPress Developer for a part-time freelance role with steady monthly work (10 to 20 hours per week expected). This position is centered on WordPress development and website modifications specifically aimed at improving SEO performance and Google Ad conversions.
We seek a developer who excels at creating efficient website development systems, processes, and tools. If you enjoy using templates and streamlined processes to enhance speed, efficiency, and quality while maintaining flexibility for creative design, we encourage you to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- System Development: Create and implement reusable templates and processes to streamline website development, ensuring consistency and reducing project time.
- WordPress Development: Efficiently and accurately build or rebuild medium-sized WordPress websites on time.
- Technical SEO Implementation: Apply technical SEO best practices, including site speed optimization and managing on-page elements.
- Cross-Platform Migration: Utilize experience with HTML, CSS, PHP, Wix, Squarespace, etc., to fix or rebuild sites from other platforms into WordPress.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct internal reviews to ensure all projects are error-free and meet high-quality standards.
Required Skills, Expectations, and Qualifications
- WordPress Expertise: Minimum of 3 years specializing in WordPress development.
- Process-Oriented Mindset: Enjoys working with systems, tools, and templates to improve efficiency and streamline repetitive tasks.
- Attention to Detail: Keen attention to detail is essential.
- Technical SEO Knowledge: Understanding of core/foundational technical SEO elements and best practices (training provided if necessary).
- Efficiency: Proven ability to deliver projects quickly and on time.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Organizational Skills: Proactive and organized approach to project completion.
- US Residency: Must reside within the USA (preference for candidates near Greensboro, Charlotte, or Raleigh, NC).
- Portfolio Submission: Must provide a portfolio of at least 5 WordPress sites completed within the past 6 months, including hours spent on each.
- High5 Assessment: Completion of the High5 assessment is required (https://high5test.com). Results will be requested prior to the interview.
