Operational Director
We are looking for an experienced Operational Director for one of the key Fintech business areas at Ailleron. This individual will take responsibility for managing a large delivery department (50+ people) and ensure the effective implementation of the company's business strategy. The person in this position will be responsible for financial results (P&L), oversight of the project portfolio, and scaling the department in a dynamic IT environment.
What tasks await you?
Organization and team management
- Managing a multi-level structure of the production department (50+ people)
- Delegating tasks and enforcing implementation by Project Managers and team leaders
- Organization of team work and optimal division of duties
- Development and scaling of the department according to business and contractual needs
- Building and developing team competencies and organizational culture
Delivery and IT project management
- IT project portfolio management
- Organization and supervision of the software production process
- Identification and resolution of problems in the delivery area
- Ensuring business continuity and operational risk management
- Escalation management and decision-making in high-risk situations
Finance and operational efficiency
- Defining, controlling, and supervising the production budget
- Responsibility for the department's financial results (P&L: budget, revenue, profitability)
- Constant cost optimization and effective use of resources
- Preparing reports on production activity results
- Creating and enforcing KPIs and OKRs
Business cooperation and development
- Participation in sales and tender processes (from offer to delivery)
- Negotiating commercial terms and contracts, especially in the area of implementation and maintenance of systems
- Building and maintaining relationships with key clients
- Co-creating production strategy and operational plans and supervising their implementation
Our requirements:
- Higher technical education (IT) or in the area of management / project management
- Experience in software house, outsourcing, or product companies
- Minimum 5 years of experience in positions related to managing software production teams (e.g., Operational Director, Delivery Manager) in the IT industry
- Knowledge of agile methodologies (Scrum, Nexus) and the classic Waterfall approach
- Very good knowledge of the software development and delivery process
- Basic technical knowledge in the field of software development
- Experience in organizational transformations or scaling an organization (startup / growth stage)
- Highly developed leadership and communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Knowledge of project portfolio management tools (e.g., Jira, MS Project) and tools supporting team work
- Very good knowledge of English (min. B2+)
