About Worldcast Live
Worldcast Live is a Brooklyn-based media and technology company specializing in live production, audiovisual installations, and educational media programs. We deliver innovative learning experiences to schools, colleges, and organizations across the U.S. through our custom Moodle LMS platform.
Role Overview
We’re looking for an experienced Moodle Administrator to oversee, maintain, and continuously improve our online learning environment — supporting both instructors and students across multiple programs. As a contract Moodle LMS Administrator, you’ll manage all aspects of the platform — from user setup and course configuration to system optimization and plugin management. You’ll ensure the LMS runs smoothly, integrates with our automation and media systems, and evolves to meet new curriculum needs. This is a remote, flexible role ideal for an independent IT professional who’s comfortable with both the technical and functional sides of Moodle.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain the Worldcast Live Moodle LMS (users, roles, permissions, backups, updates).
- Customize and configure Moodle themes, plugins, and features to support course delivery.
- Integrate Moodle with Make.com, Google Workspace, SignalWire, and other internal systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues for instructors and students.
- Oversee system security, backups, and performance monitoring.
- Collaborate with instructional staff to upload and organize course materials.
- Develop documentation and training materials for internal teams.
- Provide recommendations to enhance system usability and engagement.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of hands-on experience administering Moodle or another LMS platform.
- Proficiency in PHP, MySQL, HTML/CSS, and web hosting environments (Linux preferred).
- Strong understanding of LMS integrations and third-party APIs.
- Knowledge of SCORM, H5P, and video integration workflows.
- Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.
- Reliable self-starter who can meet deliverables independently.
Preferred Experience
- Experience integrating with Make.com, Supabase, or SignalWire.
- Background in education technology, media production, or e-learning systems.
- Familiarity with automation, REST APIs, and workflow design.
- Prior experience supporting NYC DOE or higher education LMS deployments is a plus.
Compensation
- Contract rate: $25–$45/hour (based on experience and technical skill).
- Estimated 20–30 hours per week, with potential for ongoing project-based extensions.
- Flexible remote schedule — must be responsive during standard EST business hours for key tasks.
