About the Senior Backend Developer Position
As a Senior Backend Developer, you will be crucial in creating and maintaining Petlove's core systems, upholding high standards of quality and performance. This role involves developing automated tests to ensure product functionality, alongside monitoring and resolving bugs and system failures.
You will collaborate within a product squad, working closely with Product Owners, designers, and fellow developers to deliver exceptional customer experiences. We are rapidly expanding and innovating with new products, all aimed at enhancing the happiness and health of pets.

Key Responsibilities
- Translate business objectives into robust systemic solutions.
- Estimate development effort for new systems and features.
- Conduct code reviews to enforce best programming practices.
- Implement comprehensive unit and integration tests for code quality assurance.
- Contribute to the design of scalable architectures.
- Manage the full lifecycle of systems, including development, deployment, documentation, and monitoring.
- Produce clean, reusable, and maintainable code.
- Collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary agile team for product development and evolution.
- Focus on backend development for our health-related products within the squad.
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience with PHP, preferably with the Laravel framework.
- Flexibility and interest in learning new programming languages and technologies.
- Strong foundation in Software Engineering principles.
- Solid understanding of data structures and relational databases.
- Proficiency in design patterns, Domain-Driven Design (DDD), software architectures, and best development practices.
- Knowledge of software documentation and cloud computing fundamentals.
- Experience in developing REST APIs.
- Familiarity with messaging systems (e.g., SQS).
- Experience with CI/CD DevOps practices.
- Ability to optimize Developer Experience.
- Skilled in analyzing and improving application performance.
Desirable Skills
- Knowledge of Vue JS.
- Experience with Go programming language.
