Vaimo is seeking a skilled Lead Frontend Engineer to spearhead the development of a new web application. This critical role involves building with cutting-edge technologies including Next.js 16 (App Router), React 19, and TypeScript. The frontend application will integrate within a robust microservices architecture deployed on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS). This hands-on leadership position requires daily production-ready coding, shaping key architectural decisions, and representing the frontend team in stakeholder and client discussions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of scalable frontend solutions for medium and large-scale projects.
- Oversee planning, estimation, technical design, implementation, and quality assurance.
- Define and maintain frontend architecture standards and best practices.
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and conduct code reviews for team members.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with backend, UX/UI, QA, DevOps, and Product teams.
- Drive continuous improvement of team capabilities through knowledge sharing and professional development.
- Act as a technical client-facing representative, leading workshops and architectural discussions.
- Support commercial activities, including solution scoping, estimations, and pre-sales engagements.
Skills & Requirements
Core Expertise - Must Have
- Strong production experience with React and Next.js (App Router).
- Deep understanding of SSR, SSG, ISR, and hybrid rendering strategies.
- Expert-level proficiency in TypeScript and modern frontend architecture design.
- Experience integrating frontend applications within distributed microservices ecosystems, including API contract awareness.
- Strong knowledge of frontend testing frameworks (e.g., Playwright, Jest).
- Proven ability to define and maintain architectural standards.
- Experience leading technical decisions and mentoring other engineers.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with REST or GraphQL API integration in distributed systems.
- Familiarity with headless CMS platforms (e.g., Contentful, Sanity).
- Proficiency in delivering frontend applications within CI/CD pipelines and containerized cloud environments (e.g., Docker, AKS).
- Knowledge of performance optimization and accessibility best practices.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools.
Bonus Skills
- Basic understanding of Terraform for infrastructure definitions.
- Experience with leading commerce platforms (e.g., Shopify, Adobe Commerce).
- Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Application Insights).
- Knowledge of backend technologies (.NET, Node.js, PHP).
