Working directly with the founder, this developer will build Laravel applications and APIs for a wellness-tech platform using an AI-first workflow paired with Claude Code. We're hiring a Laravel developer to join as a backup programmer and collaborator, working directly with the founder. You'll own features end-to-end: backend logic, database design, frontend integration, deploy. You'll be paired with Claude Code on every task — your job is to direct it well, review its output critically, and ship code you can stand behind.
What you'll do
- Build and maintain Laravel applications and APIs
- Translate biometric and clinical data into clean Blade dashboards and HTML interfaces
- Maintain a CLAUDE.md and Skills library so project context survives across sessions and team members
- Review and improve AI-generated code — catch the things that look right but aren't
- Pair with the founder on architecture decisions
Required
- 3+ years of Laravel / PHP in production
- Strong HTML, CSS, JavaScript — Blade specifically; bonus for Livewire and Alpine
- Hands-on experience with Claude Code, Cursor, or a similar AI development tool (not just a chat assistant)
- Git, MySQL or PostgreSQL, REST APIs
- Clear English communication, written and spoken skills
- Tailwind, charting libraries (Chart.js, ApexCharts, D3)
- Healthtech, fitness/wearables, or biometric API experience
- Have shipped a product solo or led a small team
- Understanding of Anthropic's Skills format and prompt engineering best practices
Freelance / contract to start; retainer or full-time available for the right person
Hybrid in Dubai preferred, fully remote within UAE timezone considered
Visa support possible after the trial period
Pay: AED5,000.00 - AED6,000.00 per month
