Resource 1 is seeking a mid- to senior-level ColdFusion Developer to support and maintain a complex, legacy application environment. This is primarily a support and maintenance role with some minor development, debugging, and enhancement work. The position is remote, but candidates in the Chicagoland area are preferred. This is a 3-month contract to start, with a high likelihood of extension based on performance and business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide ongoing support and maintenance for legacy ColdFusion applications.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues across multiple interdependent applications.
- Assist in minor application enhancements, patches, and security updates.
- Support integrations with other internal systems and maintain existing API connections (RESTful services).
- Collaborate with other developers and stakeholders to ensure continuity of operations.
- Document processes, application workflows, and system configurations for knowledge transfer.
- Contribute to future system transformations, including potential migrations or rewrites, when applicable.
Technical Requirements
- ColdFusion: Proven experience with Adobe ColdFusion (2020 or later preferred, but experience within the last 5-7 years is acceptable).
- Database: SQL Server (versions 2022/2025) including writing queries, debugging, and maintaining data integrity.
- Web Development: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and general front-end troubleshooting.
- APIs: Experience with RESTful web services and integrations.
- Ability to work independently and understand best practices in coding, security, and application support.
Preferred Skills
- Additional Languages: PHP, Java, or other modern programming languages for potential future application migration.
- Experience working in a complex, multi-application environment.
- Knowledge of application frameworks and system modernization is a plus.
