About the Role
Fully Remote (USA-based)
Hourly: $50-$80 (based on experience)
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented WordPress Developer to join our team as a contractor, with an opportunity for future full-time employment. This role is responsible for developing high-performing WordPress websites that align with brand and design standards, user experience best practices, and client expectations.
The ideal candidate has strong technical expertise in WordPress development, front-end and back-end programming, and performance optimization. This position requires collaboration with designers, quality assurance team members, and fellow WordPress developers to deliver high-quality websites.
Responsibilities include:
- Development of websites using WordPress and plugins from a pre-approved plugin list.
- Development of websites that meet 508 compliance requirements.
- Development of functional and technical specifications per project requirements.
- Development of end-user and developer documentation per project requirements.
- Development of high-quality, maintainable, standards-compliant code within limitations, as set per project requirements.
- Participating with internal and external teams to coordinate DNS issues, site migrations, and other development issues that require technical know-how.
Qualifications:
- At least 5 years of professional experience developing websites in WordPress.
- Experience working with heavily interactive web experiences required.
- Experience with Elementor Pro website builder required.
- Knowledge of integration with the various API required.
- Advanced Level server-side scripting in PHP required.
- Advanced Level experience with HTML / CSS3 / SASS or LESS / JavaScript, including knowledge of identifying and debugging browser/platform peculiarities, etc. required.
- Experience with web development and best practices in WordPress developing themes and/or plugins.
- Knowledge of MySQL is required, and SQL Server, MongoDB and/or other relational databases preferred.
- Strong knowledge of design, development, deployment and maintenance of fully-functional web sites and web applications.
- Strong understanding of UI, cross-browser compatibility, general web functions and standards.
Other Requirements
- Must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident (Green Card holder).
- Must be willing and able to pass a federal background check.
Desired:
- Experience with Elementor Pro website builder Version 4 (Atomic) a huge plus.
- Experience with web design, UI layout, color schemes, and general artistic talent is a huge plus.
- Familiarity with Cloud services and tool capabilities.
- Knowledge on implementing analytics platforms such as Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, or similar platforms preferred.
- JavaScript skills, including object-oriented JavaScript, jQuery, and other client-side frameworks.

Pay: $50.00 - $80.00 per hour
