Freelance WordPress Developer (Ongoing Remote Contract)
We are seeking a reliable Freelance WordPress Developer for ongoing maintenance, updates, fixes, and improvements, with the potential to support larger site rebuild projects in the future. This is a highly collaborative role requiring strong communication and reliability alongside technical skill.
Key Responsibilities (What You’ll Do)
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex WordPress issues (themes, plugins, layouts, conflicts).
- Implement page updates and improvements quickly and cleanly.
- Execute basic template and code edits using HTML/CSS and light PHP when necessary.
- Maintain development best practices, including staging workflows, secure backups, update safety protocols, and basic security measures.
- Manage basic hosting and uptime realities:
- Monitor uptime and respond promptly to outages.
- Handle DNS/SSL basics and redirects.
- Coordinate effectively with hosting providers.
- Improve site performance through caching, image optimization, and plugin cleanup.
- Document all changes using quick notes and Loom walkthroughs as needed.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong professional WordPress experience (2+ years preferred).
- Comfortable with basic HTML/CSS and basic PHP coding.
- Ability to manage hosting basics and ensure site stability and uptime.
- Clear and fast communicator during work blocks.
- Reliable availability for ongoing work assignments.
- Comfortable using a ticket board and collaborating asynchronously.
Bonus Skills
Experience with common page builders and modern WordPress tooling.
Huge Bonus (Marketing Technology Expertise)
Experience with website marketing technology, including GA4, GTM, pixels/conversion tracking, form and call tracking, CRM integrations, landing page tooling, and basic SEO hygiene.
