Quick Summary
About the Role
We are seeking a Platform Engineer to develop the core infrastructure of our product ecosystem. This critical role involves designing and evolving a scalable, event-driven platform capable of reliably processing, storing, and exposing data from thousands of connected e-commerce stores.
While you will work on integrations with major e-commerce platforms (such as Shopify and Shoper), the primary focus is on the subsequent impact: ensuring events are ingested, processed, persisted, and made available across the system with maximum scalability and reliability to support future product growth.
We prioritize speed and ownership. You will contribute to architectural decisions, build essential platform components, and continuously enhance the integration layer and internal systems. You will collaborate closely with two existing eCommerce platform engineers within our 25-person Product and Engineering team (part of a 180-person company).
How You Will Spend Your Time
- Design and develop a scalable, event-driven integration architecture.
- Build and maintain e-commerce platform integrations (plugins, apps, APIs) functioning as event producers.
- Design systems responsible for ingesting, processing, storing, and distributing high-volume events.
- Evolve existing platform components to enhance growth, performance, and reliability.
- Create new product features leveraging integration and platform capabilities.
- Collaborate closely with Product and Engineering teams to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions.
- Take full ownership of platform components, spanning design, production deployment, and long-term maintenance.
What’s In It For You
We value initiative and ownership, encouraging quick action and full responsibility for project delivery.
- Direct responsibility for projects, regular 1:1s with your leader, and blameless postmortems/code reviews.
- B2B contract (16-20k) with covered accounting services costs.
- Flexible work arrangement: Remote work or hybrid work in our modern office in Krakow.
- 26 paid days off.
- Benefits package: MultiSport/Medicover card, LuxMed medical package, group accident insurance, English classes, and Hedepy (mental health and development portal).
Who You Are (Requirements)
- 3+ years of experience with Java and Node.js, with the ability to work effectively in both languages.
- Experience designing and maintaining event-driven backend systems that handle high-volume event processing.
- Experience working with external platforms and APIs.
- A product-oriented, ownership-driven mindset.
- English proficiency level of at least B2.
