About the Role
Dynamic Digital is building a bench of skilled contract web developers to engage as client work becomes available. We are seeking a front-end focused web developer who is also comfortable working across the stack. In this role, you will build the user interfaces that our clients' customers interact with, including new websites, single-page web applications, and feature enhancements for existing production sites. While you won't be responsible for architecting back-end systems, you should confidently work with them, consuming REST APIs, reading and writing SQL, and possessing sufficient PHP knowledge to diagnose issues.

We operate as a small team, ensuring short feedback loops, and the work you develop will be deployed live for real clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop responsive front-end interfaces using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript with React or a comparable framework, based on provided designs.
- Integrate front ends with RESTful APIs, databases, and various third-party services.
- Create and customize WordPress themes and plugins, and meticulously work within existing client websites.
- Contribute to single-page web application development from initial scope to successful launch.
- Write and optimize SQL queries, and work effectively with PHP against established back-end systems.
- Maintain and enhance sites already in production, which includes diagnosing issues, resolving bugs, and improving performance.
- Produce, test, and maintain high-quality code across multiple projects.
- Rigorously review all shipped code, including AI-assisted contributions, for correctness, quality, and security.
- Collaborate closely with our team, including account management, design, and leadership, to ensure client satisfaction.
- Perform thorough testing before deployment and adhere to current industry standards and best practices.
- Generate and maintain clear technical documentation for all systems you build or modify.
- Work according to written scopes provided by the account team, and proactively flag any scope changes before hours are expended.
Requirements
- 2–7 years of professional web development experience.
- Strong front-end development skills: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and proficiency with a modern framework (React, Vue, or Angular).
- Proven experience consuming and integrating RESTful APIs.
- Working knowledge of SQL (MySQL or PostgreSQL).
- Proficiency in PHP is required, as much of our client work involves WordPress.
- Sufficient back-end familiarity to work with an existing server-side codebase independently.
- Working knowledge of WordPress theme and plugin development.
- Solid understanding of version control systems, specifically Git.
- Comfortable utilizing AI-assisted development tools, while maintaining full accountability for the quality and security of all shipped code, whether AI-generated or hand-written.
- Ability to work autonomously and deliver functional solutions with minimal supervision.
- Clear written communication skills, as most coordination is asynchronous.
- Availability for occasional scheduled calls during Eastern business hours.
- A portfolio and a GitHub account for review. A formal degree is not required.

- Hosting, DNS, and cPanel knowledge
- SEO fundamentals and Core Web Vitals understanding

How the Engagement Works
- This is an independent contractor (1099) engagement. You will invoice Dynamic Digital; you are not an employee.
- Hourly rate of $50–$75, determined by experience and project scope. The rate is agreed upon before each project.
- Work is project-by-project. No minimum hours are guaranteed, and exclusivity is not required.
- Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Acceptance to our developer bench does not constitute a commitment of work from either party.
- Every project is clearly scoped in writing, detailing deliverables, estimated hours, and deadlines, before work commences.
- This is a fully remote position, open to candidates anywhere in the United States. Our core team is based in Willow Grove, PA, and operates during Eastern business hours.
- You maintain control over your schedule, tools, and work methodology.
