About the Position
Axis International Group is seeking an experienced Full-Stack Developer / Programmer / Server Deployment Specialist to work with us on a contract, project-by-project basis. We are developing and expanding a sophisticated business technology platform and are looking for someone capable of taking projects from development through deployment and production. This position is ideal for an experienced developer who can work independently, solve problems, work with existing code, and handle Linux-based server deployment and configuration.
Responsibilities
- Develop, modify, troubleshoot, and optimize web applications.
- Work with existing codebases and APIs.
- Build frontend and backend functionality.
- Deploy applications to Linux-based VPS/server environments.
- Configure servers, databases, DNS, SSL, and related services.
- Manage Git/GitHub repositories and deployments.
- Integrate third-party APIs and services.
- Troubleshoot application, server, database, and networking problems.
- Perform security, backup, and system-maintenance tasks.
- Document development and deployment procedures.
- Work directly with company leadership to turn concepts into functioning technology.
- Take ownership of assigned projects from beginning to completion.
Preferred Technical Experience
Experience with several of the following:
- JavaScript / TypeScript
- React / Next.js
- Node.js
- Python and/or PHP
- REST APIs
- SQL databases
- Linux administration
- VPS/server deployment
- Git / GitHub
- Docker
- Nginx / Apache
- DNS and SSL
- Cloud infrastructure
- API integrations
- System troubleshooting and debugging
We are more interested in your ability to solve problems and deliver working systems than in a specific list of certifications.
Compensation
This is a contract/project-based position, not a traditional hourly employment position. Compensation will generally be structured around project milestones, allowing payments to be made as work progresses. Depending on the project, compensation may include:
- Initial project payment
- Milestone payments
- Final completion payment
- Completion/performance bonus
- Percentage-based compensation or revenue participation on qualifying projects
The specific compensation structure will be negotiated and agreed upon before work begins on each project.
