We are seeking a Development Director to lead the technical and cultural transformation of our development team. This role focuses on improving code quality, implementing automated testing processes, CI/CD, and establishing a culture of continuous improvement. The Director will guide tech leads, optimize development processes, and ensure the delivery of high-quality software. You will also be responsible for making strategic decisions regarding architecture, technologies, and best practices.
Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation of automated tests, CI/CD, and establish code review processes.
- Improve code quality, reducing the error rate and increasing maintainability.
- Mentor and guide tech leads to adopt and promote best development practices within their teams.
- Oversee key architectural decisions and evaluate technologies that enhance software scalability and performance.
- Define and monitor team performance and quality metrics (e.g., number of bugs detected, delivery speed).
- Collaborate with other departments to define and prioritize technical requirements, ensuring QA is involved from the outset.
Education
- Degree in Computer Engineering or similar.
- A good level of English will be positively valued.
Experience
- At least 5 years of experience in leading development teams, with a focus on cultural change and continuous improvement.
- Experience leading the implementation of automated testing, CI/CD, and quality processes in development.
- Familiarity with modern web technologies (PHP, JavaScript, Vue.js or equivalent frameworks) and with strategic decisions on architecture and technologies.
Technical Skills
- Ability to make strategic decisions on architecture and technology selection to improve software efficiency and quality.
- Advanced knowledge in CI/CD, automated testing, and code review processes.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and how to apply them effectively in teams.
Leadership and Soft Skills
- Ability to motivate and lead tech leads and developers towards a culture of continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
