Job Summary

Do you love writing code? As a Back-End Web Developer Intern, your role is to help Workland deliver an efficient, functional, and seamless experience for the end-user by powering the systems behind the scenes. You will develop back-end systems, contribute to accessibility and security compliance, and monitor server status. We seek a motivated and driven programmer ready to tackle diverse assignments.

Your Main Responsibilities

  • Programming Languages: Develop and maintain back-end code using PHP.
  • Databases & Caches: Obtain and store information through SQL; create, integrate, and manage databases; produce reporting, analytics, and statistics as needed.
  • Tooling: Utilize Docker for containerization, apply unit testing best practices, and manage code versioning through Git/GitLab.
  • System Development: Build and maintain back-end systems that ensure a seamless, functional end-user experience.
  • Compliance & Monitoring: Contribute to accessibility and security compliance, and monitor the status of servers.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Currently enrolled in a DEC, AEC, Certificate, or Bachelor's program in Computer Science or a related field, and eligible for an internship program approved by the Ministry of Education.
  • Some hands-on experience in web development.
  • Excellent skills in writing high-quality, clean code.
  • Working knowledge of PHP, SQL, Docker, and Git/GitLab is an asset.
