Acro Commerce is seeking a skilled Back End Developer to build, integrate, and maintain high-quality commerce solutions for our clients.

What You’ll Do

As a Back End Developer, you will be responsible for building and maintaining systems that enable manufacturers, distributors, and brands to sell online. Our client projects involve various platforms and languages, requiring developers to be adaptable. We currently have a significant amount of .NET work, so .NET experience is highly valued.

Build & Deliver

• Write high-quality, maintainable code adhering to Acro Commerce standards and production processes.
• Develop new features, integrations, and complete builds, alongside updates and revisions for existing websites.
• Manage multiple tasks or larger projects with evolving priorities, consistently meeting deadlines.

Problem Solving

• Diagnose and resolve code issues, even in unfamiliar codebases, often based on minimal client feedback.
• Provide accurate estimates for defects, new builds, and functionality, and adhere to them.
• Deliver efficient and practical solutions for work requests, issues, and defects.

Collaboration & Growth

• Communicate clearly with Project Managers, Tech Leads, and clients regarding work requests, problems, and defects.
• Act as a peer and mentor to other developers, while also being comfortable requesting assistance when needed.
• Learn new languages and platforms as required by client projects.

What You Bring

We prioritize practical building skills over formal degrees. Formal education is not required; demonstrate your coding abilities.

• Solid hands-on back-end development experience with shareable work samples.
• Experience with .NET / C# is a strong asset.
• Proficiency with some of our daily technologies: PHP, Drupal, JavaScript, TypeScript, NodeJS, React, NextJS, Shopify, WordPress, AWS, Docker, Lando, Kubernetes, Acumatica.
• Knowledge of other programming languages is welcome; highlight any unique expertise (e.g., Lisp).
• Comfort using a Linux shell for daily tasks and understanding Linux hosting environments (bonus for personal server setup experience).
• Source control experience (Git, GitHub, etc.).
• An excellent internet connection and reliable hardware suitable for extended conference calls.
• Fluency in English.
